European basic income
In the long term, we want to introduce a European Basic Income (EBI). This should be based on a negative tax system; People who earn below a certain income threshold should not pay taxes but receive money. This is intended to provide a safety net and motivate people to work to help people escape poverty traps. Payments would be adjusted to the cost of living in each region to achieve at least 500 Purchasing Power Standards (PPS). This guarantees a fair basic income across Europe that is sufficient to cover basic living costs.
